Introducing the Quinton James
Quartet
This dazzling quartet comprises Phil Smith on piano, Mark Myer
on drums Gabriel Chammah on Saxophone, Quinton on double bass /vocals and
special guest vocalist Catherine Lambert. We are all extremely experienced
and talented musicians and I have included our biographies. The
sound of this band is loosely based on 1950’s jazz, swing and boogie
woogie dance bands, but their sets also include some contemporary songs
such as Miss You [Rolling Stones] Come as You Are [Nirvana], Dancing in
the Dark [Bruce Springsteen] etc as well as a fine selection of jazz standards.
This band looks and sounds, sharp
It has a sophisticated style that appeals to any discerning crowd.
And yet they can turn around and play great modern tunes that everyone
knows as well as classic jazz and blues standards.
This band makes it very easy to book them
The ensemble can be expanded or reduced to suit different environments
and budgets. For instance:
- Quinton James Quartet with Catherine Lambert
would suit larger functions such as weddings and corporate events
- Quinton James Quartet with Catherine Lambert
for residencies at clubs and hotels
- Quinton James Quartet for residencies at clubs
and hotels
- Quinton James trio for small functions
- Quinton James duo [Double bass/vocal and Saxophone]
for shorter quiet engagements e.g. cocktail parties
